Indus Flavour- A vegetarian's eden!

Located in the heart of the booming market of GTB Nagar, Indus Flavour attracts a lot of students owing to its great deals and the exclusive student menu where all the dishes are rater under 150 bucks. The menu card doesn't come as a regular hard copy but instead an i-pad is presented for both the menu and later on for the feedback. Also, you can customize your food- check on the spice levels and the crispiness and softness of the breads.

The place is neat. Dark teak wood tables, lavish comfortable red chairs, lined with bamboo woven table mats, a copper glass holding cutlery, salt and pepper, white quarter plates topped with red napkins!
The place is predominantly done in white and red, with the left wall covered with the map showing the Indus Valley Civilization.

The service is instantaneous!

The dahi ke sholay- Hung yogurt laced with bell pepper, wrapped in breadcrumbs and fried to perfection. This dish is one that completely blows you away- the crisp crust with the creamy centre was a delectable delight!

The Paneer Gilafi Kebab again is a very tantalizing dish- a crispy coat with just the right amount of spices, crunchy bell pepper and onions and luscious, fresh paneer. Best eaten with fresh mint chutney.

The honey chilly potato were decent enough- thick, juicy potato fingers sprinkled with sesame seeds. Although is flavours of the chilly and tangy sauce were overpowering and didn't quite bring out the taste of the honey.

The nargisi kofta served in a kadhai, we had chosen it to be medium spicy but probably it would have tasted better had we chosen it to be sweet. And although the gravy was A-okay, with luscious pieces of paneer completely soaked in the thick, rich curry, it didn't appeal much to me.

The subz pajtrani is very flavoursome. Crunchy bell peppers- red, yellow and green, mushrooms, onions, carrots, beans laced with a tomato based gravy with a very palatable tandoori aroma to it.

The dal makhni is ambrosial and it is hard to get enough of it. Dal Makhni is one of the standard dishes and you usually get a decent dish almost everywhere but seldom do you come across a portion that is so appetizing that you keep craving for it. I have previously eaten such a gratifying portion of dal makhni in Chatter House and The second time was today!
The dish was impeccable- the cream blending into the curry perfectly blending into the lentils.

The portions are enormous and the servers, very cordial.

The splendid meal ended with finger bowls, mouth freshener and a very happy wallet!
